Internal Research Projects

The internal research projects that are defined, financed and undertaken by Pars Geological Research Center (Arianzamin) can be classified into 4 different categories as follows:

1- Completed Projects

  • Overview of Iran’s Natural Resources and their Global Status (Partly published in English and Persian)
  • Geological Atlas of Iran (scale 1:500,000),
  • Annotated Index of all (4500) Mineral Deposits and Indications of Iran (along with their complete metallogenic specification)
  • Provincial Categorization of Cu, Fe, Au, … Deposits of Iran
  • An Introduction to Attractive Geological Sceneries of Iran (many of which can be referred to as geo-parks)
  • Geology of Recent Volcanoes of Iran,
  • Mines and Mineral Deposits of Iran (database)
  • Gems and Gemology in Iran (database)
  • Detailed Information of Cu, Fe, Au and Al Deposits of Iran
  • Evaluation of Porphyry Copper Deposits of Arasbaran, Kerman

2- Current projects

  • Mining Information Database of Central Asian Countries
  • An Introduction to Attractive Geological Sceneries of Iran (many of which can be referred to as geo-parks)
  • Strategic Planning for Specific Mineral Resources (e.g. bentonite, barite, talc …)

3- Proposed projects

  • Strategic Planning for Industries and Mines in Various Provinces (considering their natural and mineral resources)
  • Exploration and Categorization of Porphyry Copper Deposits of Iran
  • Planning Specific Industrial-Mining Complexes (considering regional potentials)

4- Proposals for high priority regions

Pars Geological Research Center (Arianzamin) has identified many parts of the country with vast barren lands or mineral resources with appropriate characteristics that are suitable for setting up specific industrial units, and has accordingly surveyed the availability of primary resources (such as mining and energy potentials, surface water, and groundwater resources) in order to carry out such industrial and agricultural projects, and has arrived at very valuable conclusions. Also, the Center has located many interesting sites for eco-tourism and geo-tourism and has documented their characteristic features.
